A massive star in her native Ukraine, Mika Newton is an exciting new arrival on the American pop music scene. Fresh off her remarkable performance of the song "Angel" at Eurovision last May, Mika embarked on an exciting journey of expanding her music horizons. Wanting to bring her music to the world, Mika packed her bags for Los Angeles to start working with the acclaimed music producer Randy Jackson. Her first single, "Don't Dumb Me Down," a great mix of soulful lyrics and booming vocals, is already buzzing at national radio and has support from MTV - the official music video premiered today on MTV's Buzzworthy Blog. The song will be available beginning February 21st through iTunes and other digital retailers.

Later this year, the singer/songwriter will release her debut album through Randy Jackson's label Friendship Collective in association with JK Music Group. Working with heavy hitting songwriters Rune Westberg (Adam Lambert, Daughtry) & BC Jean (Beyoncé) on "Don't Dumb Me Down," and seasoned producer Randy Jackson, it's not hard to see why Mika is lighting up stateside.

Newton harnessed her talent for singing as a child growing up in the town of Burshtyn, in the western part of Ukraine, teaching herself to sing at just 5 years old. After several years of attending music school, Newton began to enter regional and international vocal competitions which lead to attention from local music industry players. She released two hugely popular albums in Europe and is also known as the "Queen of Soundtracks" in the Ukraine & Russia providing vocals for multiple television shows & films back home.
