American Idol's Lauren Alaina stopped by The Today Show on NBC this week to perform her hit single, "Georgia Peaches." The rising Country star has been busy promoting her debut album,Wildflower, which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #2 on the Country Album charts. She also appeared on Fox & Friends Sunday and ABC News Now for exclusive interviews about her buzzing career.
The busy singer has just wrapped up the 'My Kinda Party' Arena Tour with Jason Aldean, and will be one of two opening acts for select cities on the highly anticipated 'In The Hands Of The Fans' Tour with Sugarland in May. Lauren Alaina is kicking off 2012 with a video for her latest single, "Georgia Peaches." The clip - directed by David McClister (The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum) - stars some of Alaina's best friends, and was filmed at the Sylvan Park Melrose restaurant in Nashville.
"Making the ‘Georgia Peaches' video was a blast," she said, "I got to have some of my closest friends in the video, and we were laughing and having a good time throughout the night. I love that I was able to have them there." Lauren, who grew up in the small town of Rossville, GA, added that "I'm a proud Georgia Peach!" Lauren Alaina recently stopped by AOL Music's studios for an exclusive Sessions performance of four songs from her debut album,Wildflower. Included in the set was her latest single, "Georgia Peaches," as well as "Like My Mother," "She's a Wildflower," and "18 Inches."
In addition to the performances, Lauren did a special interview in which she talked about the people around her and her newly found stardom. "The guys that liked me before don't really talk around me anymore. They're so embarrassed and shy. And then the ones that weren't interested at all are like, 'What's up?'" The 17-year-old singer/songwriter will also be supporting country stars, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, on Aldean's upcoming My Kinda Party Arena Tour in early 2012.
